Peer Review
Resolution of Disputes
Peer Review is a voluntary informal mediation/arbitration process that has been
developed by organized dentistry as a free-of-charge public service that allows
patients, third party payers and dentists to resolve disputes over quality of care and
appropriateness of dental treatment issues. A benefit of being a member of the
WTCDS is that we provide each other this review process to prevent any dispute
going to the state level. If a patient has a complaint, the executive committee of the
dental society and any other member they appoint can arbitrate the dispute and
resolve it without going all of the way to the state board.
